Youth Ministry

Teens–loving God, loving others, serving others
North Central Youth Group has so many ways for teens to get involved!
NCYG meets weekly on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. There are
covenant groups for both guys and gals that meet at separate times during the week. We meet on the second Friday of the month to just "hang out," and we
have one large event every month. We meet on the second Friday of the month to just "hang out," and we

Mornings
On Sunday mornings, teens focus their discussion on what the Bible
actually tells us about how to live, to find out what we believe and why
we believe it.
Wednesday
Nights
Here's a chance to grow deeper and closer. We discuss, interact, and we
apply the bible to our lives. Real problems, real peer pressure,
distractions, temptations. How do we apply our faith to every day life?
Covenant
Groups
Having the feeling of being alone and that no one understands is
something most teens feel. We help overcome this by meeting weekly to
discuss these issues. We talk about the good things from the week, the
rough things from the week, and what separated us from God that week.
Known as the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Focus of
Events
Giving a teen the opportunity to connect on multiple levels is very
important to us. Every event focuses on the following three areas:
Loving God – Spiritual
Every NCYG event is aimed towards spiritual growth. But some events we
take it to the forefront. Making God the focus of what were are doing
and building our relationship with Him.
Loving Others– Social
Having a teen want to come and build their relationship with God is SO
important, but what allows that to happen are the people around them
building them up–encouraging them both spiritually and towards more
meaningful friendships.
Serving Others– Service
Christ set so many examples in his own life about his
relationship with God, his relationship with others; but, one example he
set over and over was how to serve those around him We see that meeting
others physical needs can lead to filling them spiritually and
emotionally.
NCYG Yearly
Events
Winterfest
The biggest event of our year is in February, when we head down to
Gatlinburg, TN to meet up with thousands of other teens from around the
country. We join them in worship, praise, and get to know each other on a
whole new level.
Advance
To start out the new school year, our whole group heads down to
Camp Olivette for our kick off retreat. We focus on working together to
Advance our faith together as one group. The relationships built there,
set up the rest of the year.
Reveal
Every year we take the opportunity to get away with just our senior high
group for a weekend. We are able to jump right into things and
challenge ourselves to Reveal something to others, to ourselves, and to
God.
Missions
NCYG participate in foreign, domestic and local missions. We have a
3-year cycle in which we rotate our focus. Teens learn that mission work
happens everywhere and can have an impact on lives anywhere.
Summer Camp
Getting away from our regular routine back home is a large reason we
head out to Camp Wabashi each year to focus on our relationship with
God. Getting together with teens from around the state shows our teens
that they are not alone in their walk with Christ.
