We exist to worship & praise Him
Overall Mission of North Central
North Central exists to glorify God by fostering transformed life in
Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Within that mission, the worship ministry exists to glorify God and help others do the same. Worship is what we as humans were created to do! We view our role within the congregation as one of support and encouragement. We lead from the front to better equip everyone to express to God what everyone needs to express, admittedly not a felt need for some just yet.

A word about the Praise Team
Though we have 6 to 8 singers sitting near the front with
microphones each week, we view the entire church as the praise team here
at North Central. In other words, giving praise to God is the
privilege and responsibility of the entire gathered group…not just that
of the singers with microphones in their hands. It is clear to us and
to our congregation that GOD is the intended audience. Sure, we are all
built up and strengthened by the sounds of each other singing our
hearts out, but that’s just a healthy by-product.
Praise Team (aka “singers with mics”) – we believe in the team concept of worship leadership here at North Central. It best supports our tradition of purely a cappella singing, and enables each worshipper to hear his or her part. We know not everyone who worships with us sings a harmony part; many just sing the lead line which is just fine with us. But if you want to sing alto, tenor, or bass, we not only give you the sheet music, but we provide a leader for you (usually two singers per harmony part) to follow.
If you’d like to be a part of the praise team, contact the church office at nccoc@nccoc.org. There are basic requirements, but you’d be surprised how little they have to do with “ability to sing”. We rehearse every Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm, and the team arrives at 8:00 am on Sundays, and sings for both of our morning services.
The Lord's Supper: Communion with God's family.
On the first day of the week we came together to break bread.
Acts 20:7
Jesus never asked his disciples to remember his birth. But he did
instruct them to remember his death and resurrection. He gave the church
a symbolic reminder of his death, and it is referred to in the New
Testament as the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is an object lesson
that represents a great spiritual truth for believers.
We believe that early Christians celebrated the Lord’s Supper every Sunday; therefore, that is what we practice. (Acts 20:7) We believe taking the Lord’s Supper is a blessing and time of remembrance and communion for all believers. Sharing in the Lord’s Supper is open to all who consider themselves followers of Christ.
Communion Ministry
North Central’s communion takes place every Sunday morning.
Preparing, serving and sharing communion are all roles in which North
Central members participate.
