What is Clothes & Crayons for Kids?
Clothes & Crayons for Kids is a faith-based community program for local children in need. It is sponsored by North Central Church of Christ and the surrounding community. This outreach program works with local school officials and social workers to identify families in need of assistance.
An official in Student Services for Washington Township schools, describes Clothes & Crayons for Kids as “a great asset to our community … it has touched the lives of hundreds of our students … 10% to 12% of our student population is now Hispanic and these demographics are growing every day. Many of these students, new to the area, start school with absolutely no supplies, or book bags or necessary clothing. Clothes & Crayons for Kids is now a significant help to these families and many other families of all sizes and colors at or below poverty level, and we are all extremely appreciative for the help offered by this outstanding faith-based community project …”
Results of Clothes & Crayons for Kids.
Clothes & Crayons for Kids helps hundreds of local children each year increase their self-confidence and performance in school by providing back packs, school supplies, a new outfit, and gently used clothing.
Research shows that when facing school without the self-confidence their more affluent classmates have, these children often fall behind in their first years of school and find their troubles compounded throughout their school career.
We help children look forward to a brighter academic future by giving them a good start each school year.
