Senior Minister
David was born and raised in New Orleans where he became a Christian and married his wife Lynette in 1971. From 1971 till 1988 David and Lynette worked with churches in Arkansas, Kansas and New Orleans in Youth, Education and Preaching Ministry.
David has attended Harding College (BA), Harding Graduate School, Wichita State University (MA Communication Theory), Louisiana State University, and Trinity College and Seminary (PhD Biblical Counseling). For several years he taught Communication courses at LSU and Xavier University of Louisiana.
David and Lynette moved their family to Indiana in 1988 to begin work with the North Central congregation. Their children, Jonathan and Sarah, both graduated from North Central High School where Lynette has worked as as full-time School Treasurer since 1989. Through the years, David and Lynette have been active in mission trips and in premarital and marriage counseling. They have done extensive training with Willard Harley in his “Marriagebuilders” approach to counseling.
David enjoys all aspects of the challenges of fully-supported ministry, but is especially committed to preaching, encouraging healthy marriages and building a church community that intentionally and naturally produces deeply changed followers of Jesus.
David and Lynette are blessed with five granddaughters and love spending time with them and with all of the family. David and Lynette believe that in devotion to God, marriage and family are our first and highest and also most rewarding obligation. They believe that strong churches are built on strong marriages. They believe that Jesus and the Bible provide the best guidance for building strong marriages and families. They have devoted themselves to the path of teaching and living out these values in a way that is relaxed, realistic and fun.
The Mangums have found North Central to be a great place for learning to believe Jesus, build relationships and become servants.
